It’s funny how fast things change. Last year when I started telling people that a few of us were developing a new sense people thought I was crazy. Insane. Why? How? You’re going to do what???!!!
Now I have been reading article after article about how cybernetics is the next big multi-billion-dollar industry. After the iPhone, where do you go? Apparently, you go to us crazy people at the Cyborg Nest.
Last year when we decided that the North Sense would be our first intelligently designed sense we hit a wall. How would people attach a circuit board and compass to their chests? Doctors probably wouldn’t do it and even if they would, the costs would be astronomical. And then we had a flash of genius.
We found an entire industry that was already poised to capitalize on this new opportunity. They just didn’t know it yet. An industry with trustworthy people that are licensed and insured to put pieces of metal into humans. And they already set up shops in almost every city and town in the world. Body piercing artists. Eureka!
Maybe the body modification community is asking the same types of questions. After you’ve pierced every conceivable part of the body (and some inconceivable) where do you go? Apparently, it is the still the crazy people at the Cyborg Nest.
I love it when two worlds collide and make something beautiful.
